Vora Villas: Hotel in Santorini

On the volcanic island of Santorini, in the village of Imerovigli, above the Aegean Sea on the side of a caldera, stands Vora Villas, a small hotel with a unique design.

Yannis Bellonias, the owner, a true Santorini native nd CEO of a group that owns three hotels in Santorini, called upon K-Studio for the design project. K-Studio kept the original layout of an existing troglodyte-style villa and added two additional structures underneath, which were dug into the steep cliff for a four year period.

Vora Villa consists of just 3 contemporary villas in their own minimalistic design: Alpha, Ro, and Omikron. Their sleek white exteriors with sharp angles are reminiscent of the island’s typical Cycladic architecture. The vaulted interiors with smooth curves blend with a soothing color palette of beiges and greys accented by dark wood and custom-made furniture. The ensemble creates a feeling of comfort, intimacy, and relaxation.

Each villa is equipped with a bedroom with a bed equipped with a Tempur mattress, a dressing room, a bathroom with double sinks, a rain shower, and Olive Era toiletries, a comfortable living area, a kitchen, and a large terrace with a whirlpool jacuzzi offering a breathtaking view. The villas are carefully oriented towards the sunlight and towards the sunset, for which the island is famous.

An à la carte breakfast with Greek flavors is served every morning on the terraces of the private villas. There is no restaurant on site, but Vora Villas offers a sit-down dinner on request with meals at hand and an authentic Greek tasting menu for dinner.
